My smart TV remote is controlling Atmosphere TV. How do I turn it off?
The Apple TV devices are provided with Atmosphere TV pre-loaded and the original Apple TV functionality is locked down. Some smart television remotes will automatically connect to the Apple TV and allow you to control the device, however if this setting is causing issues and you would like to turn this off please follow these instructions:
- Hold the Play/Pause and Volume Down buttons for 6 seconds and release
- ‘Running Analytics’ will appear at the top right corner, wait for about 1 min 30 seconds
- Select Prompt "Export"
- AirDrop will appear
- Take this step slowly. From the air drop screen, press Back or Menu on the remote until "Settings" appears (you're working your way backward through the Settings). This should be 5 clicks.
- Scroll down and select "Remotes & Devices"
- Scroll down and select "Control TVs and AV Receivers" to turn this "Off"
- Press back until you return to the Atmosphere TV content
